Rwanda is a landlocked country in the Great Lakes Region of East - Central Africa. It is home to approximately
10.1 million people and its capital city is Kigali. The country is split by the Rift-valley and is dominated by Mountain
ranges that traverses the country from North to South.
The main attraction in Rwanda is the presence of Mountain Gorillas and Golden Monkeys.
Size of Country: Rwanda is a small highland country about 26,338 Km². Most of its rolling land is
punctuated by terraced hills and Mountains standing above1520m above sea level.
Language: Most Rwandans speak Kinyarwanda, one of the country’s 3 official languages. While Swahili
is spoken in the market places,educated Rwandans speak French and about 5% of them speak English.
Currency: Rwandan Franc (RWF).
Tourist Attractions:
Volcanoes National Park/Biosphere Reserve, Akagera National Park, Nyungwe National Park.
